Annecy: Venice of the Alps Day 3: March 30, 2009
- Tourists mostly gone. Annecy is a daytrip on the weekend.
- Canals were being cleaned so the water level was lowered to almost nothing. Interesting, kinda... ok, not really.
- If there's a god, french cider should be available in the US as much as (or more than) english cider is.
- Overheard some Americans shopping in Monoprix. They were the first and only I encountered in this town. I heard them because they were...loud.
- People who regularly travel by themselves are made differently. I admire them but I don't know if I aspire to be like them.
- I had a popcorn bit stuck in my back tooth for a few days, but I finally got it out on this day.
- I kinda miss it.
- There are so many pedestrian only zones. Cars and people don't mix for these frenchies.
- Followed the River Thiou away from the lake into not-old Annecy for quite a bit. Not really any tourists this way.
- Sat on some benches along Lake Annecy for a while. This was contentment.
- Got my chicken potato chips and cider by the beer-sized bottle. This was joy.
- Watched news on TV and it was mostly about the US. This was dumb.
It goes from the prison to my hotel to the mountains in the distance to St. Francois de Sales and back around. Stunning camera work, I know.
