Jumping into Lake Annecy Day 2: March 29, 2009
- Walked through Sunday market in the old town. It's one of France's finest.
- Got a ham and cheese crepe, but only ate half. Bleh, too much cheese. Never again.
- Decided that 3 things are needed to do Annecy right: camera - cause it's ridiculously beautiful; car - to drive around the lake and up the mountains; and SUMMER - because it's frickin cold.
- Very windy day, but there was about 20 minutes of sun.
- Walked too much, like I always do on the first day of vacation.
- Stupid grocery stores closed. I couldn't get my roasted chicken potato chips.
- Heard a lot of German, being close to Switzerland, but mostly French, being that I'm in duh France.
- It's a really touristy town, not just with the amount of people, but the amount of gelato shops.
- It quieted down at night so this must be a daytrip destination.
- I took 373 photos this day. Top that.
- Walked around the Jardin de l'Europe, along the Promenade, to the Casino and back again.
- Ate tartiflette for dinner. Think mac-n-cheese but made with potatoes and add bacon and onions. Yeah, good as it sounds.
- All my muscles (such as they are) hurt.
- Ducks quack in France just like they do in the US. But maybe they have duckalects. Get it? Get it?
- Swans get itchy, too! They use their webbed feet to scratch their heads just like cats and dogs.
This is the Promenade that goes from Annecy to Annecy-le-Vieux. Lots of people were walking around or getting in my way.
