Lakers Celtics Finals
For the first time in about a decade, I'm actually going to watch the NBA Finals. I grew up a Lakers fan so I naturally hate the Celtics. All Boston sports, really, are vile. Chicago sports teams, too. All of them make me want to punch something. Not that it takes much which is why I'm going to attempt some Buddhist meditation tomorrow. I'll try not to get kicked out of the temple.
Anyway, i's been about 20 years since these two teams have met in the finals and I suppose there's a few things different this time around:
- I have no idea who any of the players are except Kobe Bryant.
- I have watched less than 10 NBA games total since Magic Johnson retired.
- The only players I know are on the Spurs because Cylinda has some weird "hometown pride" going on.
- What's Larry Bird been up to?
- My favorite pro player ever was Byron Scott. He's now the New Orleans coach which has nothing to do with L.A. or Boston.
- The Forum is now owned by a church. This church does not own a NBA team.
Except for all those things, it's a rematch of the classic 80s rivalry. Exactly like it!

Flip Ultra
Got a Flip Ultra video camera for just being me this weekend. It's almost idiot-proof...almost. Let's not discuss how. Just believe me when I say that this camcorder is as advertised. I took it out of its box and shot my first video in under a minute.
It's going to be a long summer for the boys...

What Cylinda aspires to

Lionel Hutz: And so, ladies and gentleman of the jury, I rest my case.
Judge: Hmmm. Mr. Hutz, do you know that you're not wearing any pants?
Hutz: DAAAA! I move for a bad court thingy.
Judge: You mean a mistrial?
Hutz: Right! That's why you're the judge and I'm the law-talking guy.
Judge: You mean the lawyer?
Hutz: Right.
In the midst of celebrating Cylinda's graduation from vocational law school training, I would like to remind her that while Lionel Hutz is not the lawyer she should emulate, he is a lawyer and is licensed to practice in Springfield, which is more than she can do now. Think about that. He's also a cartoon character and not real, so maybe I should think about that.
She'll be just as good as Hutz - maybe even a little better - after she sits for the bar in July. Then she'll be crossing over to the dark side to be an evil corporate lawyer this fall. I CAN'T WAIT!
No, really, I can't. Except for the whole evil part... just kidding. I'm looking forward to the evilness the most.
